02. Oxímoro / Oxymoron

Oxímoro é uma exposição que reúne dois artistas de gerações e locais distintos, que acusam um interesse por uma ideia de limbo e transição, assente numa exploração entre a realidade e a ficção. Assim como um oxímoro é uma figura de estilo, que acolhe uma ideia contrária à sua natureza, também a exposição vive da junção de opostos que convergem num olhar poético. Não devemos, por isso, apreender a constituição das coisas, sejam as obras ou os diálogos que entre elas despontam, de forma tácita e directa, senão numa articulação de subtilezas. Uma ligação que atesta um pensamento sobre o lugar do hiato, da passagem e da sobreposição, assente nas ideias de expressão e imanência, factualidade e efabulação.

Oxymoron is an exhibition that binds together two artists from different generations and locales, and who both disclose an interest in the idea of limbo and transition, rooted in an exploration amongst reality and fiction. Just as an oxymoron is a figure of speech that embraces an idea contrary to its nature, the exhibition also thrives on the merging of opposites that converge into a poetic gaze. Therefore, we should not grasp the constituents of things, whether the artworks or the dialogues that arise among them, in a tacit and direct manner, but rather in an articulation of subtleties. A connection that attests a reflection on the place of hiatus, of passage and over-lapping, grounded in ideas of expression and immanence, factuality and fabulation.
